Market Day in Knoxville

Market Day in Knoxville

A post shared by Daniel Wallace (@writingdaniel) on

Knoxville, the small city in the Tennessee hills, has one of the best farmers’ markets in the country.

However, once a year, the city also holds Biscuit Festival on Market Day, and downtown becomes even more crowded. The city’s best chefs compete with visiting tents for the most popular biscuit, and even by 8am, the queue for entry tickets was three-hundred long.

My wife and I don’t eat meat, so we couldn’t partake of most of the festival’s offerings, but we still found a lot to sample and buy.
