I will be presenting at the Words & Music writing festival in New Orleans

I'm very excited about this. Every year, the Faulkner Society presents the Words and Music writing conference in New Orleans. This year, thanks to the organisational powers of the brilliant Jeni Stewart, on November 30th, she and I will be co-presenting a panel, asking writers in the audience the crucial question, “Is Something Mything in your Villain?”

I'm sure that's a question that's long been worrying you. Come to NOLA to get the answer.

I've never been to New Orleans before. Thanks to the UNO Edinburgh conference I attended in July, I've know a lot of New Orleans people, and am looking forward to seeing them again. Even better, my MFA mentor, Lisa Zeidner, as well as the playwright, novelist, and master of all forms John Biguenet, will be presenting in the conference.

All I need to do now is buy a smart pair of trousers and a tie.
