How to get into a creative writing MFA in the United States
Hello everyone. I spent much of last autumn, winter and spring applying to MFA programmes in the States, a process that ended with me receiving a very generous offer from Rutgers (long term readers of this blog will be very bored to hear this again). I’ve written a three part guide describing how I went about it: how to research different programmes, prepare the necessary documentation, and write a personal statement. Hope it helps.
Here’s part one – over at offshorewave.com.

Not boring at all – a rather useful guide for those who are thinking of pursuing an MFA. Glad to know you are on your way to a great school, doing what you love. It’s a long way from being a cast member in a Chinese TV show and teaching in Taiwan!
Thanks, YML.
Did you keep up the trips to the gym after ?
I kept up until I moved to Southampton – it was good. Since then, sitting in a chair for long periods has been getting harder. Fortunately, Rutgers has a gym on campus.
